ECI pronounces schedule for 2 Rajya Sabha seats of Punjab
CHANDIGARH: With the time period of two members of the Rajya Sabha elected from the State of Punjab is because of expire in July 2022, Election Fee of India (ECI) has introduced schedule for biennial Elections to the Council of States from the State of Punjab.
The time period of workplace of Rajya Sabha members together with Ambika Soni and Balwinder Singh elected from the State of Punjab is because of expire on their retirement on July 4, 2022.
Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Dr S Karuna Raju on Thursday mentioned that based on the schedule, the problem of the notification is on Could 24, 2022 and Final date of constructing Nominations can be Could 31, 2022, whereas scrutiny of nominations can be performed on June 1, 2022. The final date of withdrawal of candidature has been mounted on June 3, 2022.
He mentioned that the date for polling has been mounted on June 10, 2022 from 9am to 4pm, whereas the counting will even be held on the identical day at 5pm. The election shall be accomplished earlier than June 13, 2022, he added.
