AAP MLA Amansher Singh Kalsi threw political decorum to the winds by getting concerned in a spat with law enforcement officials in full public glare over a difficulty as trivial because the issuance of a visitors challan to one among his loyalists.

A supporter of the legislator was driving a motorbike and not using a registration plate. A group led by DSP Harwinder Singh Gill and Batala (Metropolis) police station SHO Balwinder Singh pulled him over.

They have been shocked when he informed the officers “to drop the proceedings as a result of he was near MLA Kalsi”.

The loyalist dialed the legislator who, in flip, known as up the officers on their cellphones. Nevertheless, the cops didn’t reply. Within the meantime, the offender was handed over the visitors challan.

An offended MLA later drove all the way down to the scene, resulting in an argument. A video of the incident went viral, giving sufficient ammunition to Kalsi’s rivals to fireplace verbal volleys at him for the “abysmally low ranges of political decorum to which he had stooped”.

Passersby have been shocked to see their MLA concerned in a verbal skirmish with law enforcement officials over a meager visitors violation. “Kalsi is the voice of 1.50 lakh folks. We didn’t elect him for this. He picked up a quarrel with law enforcement officials who have been rightly doing their job by challaning an individual whose bike bore no quantity plate. That is what occurs if you elect a political greenhorn,” stated a Congress councillor.

The legislator couldn’t be reached for remark.
