Alleging police inaction, ladies wage warfare on drug menace at Bathinda village

Ladies of Chak Fateh Singhwala village at Bhucho in Bathinda district have been sitting on a dharna over drug menace close to the village bus stand for the previous over two weeks. Ladies have accused the police and administration of inaction.

They together with a village-committee constituted to counter drug menace not too long ago caught 11 peddlers and handed them over to the police.

Nevertheless, protesting ladies rue the unabated provide of medicine, principally heroin, within the village. Notably, it’s the village of MLA Grasp Jagsir Singh.

Sukhjit Kaur, a resident, mentioned: “Half of village youngsters had fallen prey to medication.” Baljit Kaur, one other resident, mentioned: “Medication are being bought and purchased brazenly.
