Farmers up in arms towards dera administration in Beas

Farmers staged a protest towards a dera administration in Beas, almost 44 km from right here, for allegedly obstructing their means by erecting gates on Wednesday.
In addition they demanded to vacate 283 acres of panchayat land and removing of gates. Beneath the patronage of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC), farmers staged a protest towards the dera in Jodha village. Charan Singh Kaler, KMSC president, Baba Bakala zone, stated the land of about 20 farmers fall adjoining to the stated dera. Daljit Singh’s 12 acres, Sham Singh’s 4 kanal and 13 marla land, 4 kanal every of Balwinder Singh and Jatinder Singh, Kanwaljit Kaur’s seven acres, moreover seven acres every of Harbans Singh and Sardul Singh fall in Jodha village. Kaler alleged that the dera erected a gate to dam the entry of those farmers to their land.
He stated the street from Jodha village to Darya Mand was 76 toes broad, which had been illegally occupied by the stated dera. The agitating farmers lifted the protest after the reassurance of Harkrishan Singh, DSP, Baba Bakala, that the gate wouldn’t be allowed to be erected on the village.
