Tabla exponent performs at GNDU, Amritsar

Siddhartha Chatterjee, an eminent tabla maestro of Farrukhabad Gharana, gave a solo efficiency on the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan of the college on Monday. The occasion was collectively organised by the Guru Nanak Dev College and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of Exterior Affairs, Authorities of India.

Ustad Puran Chand Wadali, a Padma Shri awardee, and Prof Anish Dua, Dean Scholar’s Welfare, have been the particular visitors for the night. The occasion was attended by music lovers from the college, affiliated establishments and lots of artwork lovers of town.

School members and college students of Guru Nanak Dev College witnessed a wonderful rendition by Sidhartha Chatterjee. Puran Chand Wadali, in his remarks, stated: “Music is the trail to merge with divine.” Prof Anish Dua highlighted the therapeutic influence of music on human thoughts and feelings. Namita Ghosh from ICCR, in her remarks, thanked the GNDU VC for such a significant collaboration.
