EC seeks clarification over plea to increase voting time

Amid voting for the Sangrur bypoll, the Election Fee has sought clarification from the Punjab Chief Secretary and the District Commissioner, Sangrur for looking for extension in polling time.

In an announcement, the ballot panel stated, “The ECI seeks clarification from the DC, Sangrur, and the Chief Secretary, Punjab, for asking for extension of polling time in direction of closing hours at 4 pm with none new info showing on the day of polling and, thereby, trying to affect a piece of voters.”
