In a serious embarrassment to Punjab authorities, BMW Group in India said that it has no plans for organising further manufacturing operations in Punjab.

“BMW Group is firmly dedicated to its Indian operations with its manufacturing plant in Chennai, a components warehouse in Pune, a coaching centre in Gurgaon NCR and a well-developed vendor community throughout main metropolitans of the nation. BMW Group India has no plans for organising further manufacturing operations in Punjab,” said a press launch issued by BMW Group India.

The assertion by the corporate comes a day after the Punjab authorities introduced that main auto big BMW agreed to arrange its auto half manufacturing unit in state. “The efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to rope in main investments from Germany bore fruit on Tuesday as main auto big BMW agreed to arrange its auto half manufacturing unit in state,” said the federal government press launch.
