Patwari nabbed for taking bribe

The Vigilance Bureau on Thursday nabbed a Income Patwari, posted at Batala Sarki income halqa in Gurdaspur district, for accepting bribe of Rs 4,500.
Disclosing this right here as we speak, a spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau stated Patwari Jaswant Singh was arrested on the criticism of Gurdeep Kaur of Mehta Chowk in Gurdaspur.
He stated the complainant had approached the VB whereas alleging that Jaswant Singh was demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 for mutation of land in her title after the demise of her husband.
After verifying her criticism, a VB staff laid a entice and the accused patwari was caught red-handed with Rs 4,500 as a primary instalment of bribe. He was arrested within the presence of two official witnesses.
He stated a case below the Prevention of Corruption Act had been registered in opposition to the accused on the Amritsar VB police and additional investigation was in progress.
