Tempers flare over restoration of carcass disposal level in Maur

The difficulty concerning restoration of carcass disposal level (hadda rodi unit) at Ghuman Kalan village in Maur flared up with two factions (one in favour and the opposite opposing it) coming nose to nose at the moment. Later, a heavy police drive needed to be deployed within the village.
As per data, when a crew led by Naib Tehsildar Jagtar Singh reached the spot to take measurements for the carcass disposal unit, a gaggle of males from the village tried to cease them, following which the police resorted to cane-charge the protesters in an effort to disperse them.
This additional enraged the protesters who hurled the stones on the officers. Later, a senior citizen allegedly tried to eat a toxic substance and was rushed to the hospital.
The group opposing the restoration of the unit blocked Bathinda-Mansa Highway and raised slogans towards the administration.
The protesters allegedly held the district administration officers captive, following which the police used delicate drive and detained among the agitators.
Bathinda SSP J Elanchezhian stated, “We now have registered a case towards the principle accused and some of them have been arrested. After probing the matter additional, extra individuals are anticipated to be booked within the case.”
