Punjab govt extends deadline of VDS for enhaching load on tube wells until October 23
CHANDIGARH: In a serious reduction to farmers desirous of enhancing the electrical energy load of their tube-wells, the Punjab authorities led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has prolonged the date of the Voluntary Disclosure Scheme (VDS) for enhancing load until October 23.
That is for the second time, that the Punjab Authorities has prolonged the deadline, in view of the eager curiosity proven by the farmers.
An official spokesperson of the Punjab State Energy Company Restricted (PSPCL) mentioned that the VDS scheme was launched on June 10 for 45 days (until July 24) by slashing charges for load enhancement on tube wells from present Rs 4750 to Rs 2500 per BHP.
On July 23, the Chief Minister had prolonged the scheme until September 15.
The Spokesperson mentioned that as of now 1.70 lakh farmers have saved Rs 160 crore by availing the good thing about this scheme. Whereas exhorting the farmers to take most good thing about the scheme, he mentioned that these farmers who’re desirous about enhancing the load of their tube wells can apply for it until October 23.
In the meantime, as Punjab is predominately an agrarian financial system with a big part of its inhabitants depending on farming, CM Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Authorities has been leaving no stone unturned to maximise the revenue of farmers by decreasing their enter prices.
