Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrests Clerk for taking bribe to supply land document
CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau, throughout its marketing campaign towards corruption from the state, on Thursday arrested Manjit Singh Junior Assistant, posted within the workplace of Sadar Kanungo Department, in workplace of Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur for accepting bribe of Rs.1,000.
Giving data on this regard, a spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau (VB) mentioned the above mentioned accused Manjit Singh has been arrested in a bribery case on the idea of grievance lodged by complainant Jermanjit Singh on the anti-corruption helpline of Bureau.
He additional added that the complainant has alleged in his on-line grievance that the mentioned clerk was demanding Rs. 1000 to supply land document pertaining to his land. On the idea of the proof on document and info obtained by the Bureau, the alleged costs had been discovered to be true. After this, the VB registered a case below part 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act at Police Station VB, Amritsar and the accused Manjit Singh was arrested.
