Retired IAF officer held hostage in Amritsar, robbed of Rs 12L, Rs 22L jewelry

Amritsar, September 21

Three unidentified robbers struck at a retired Indian Air Pressure officer’s home on Yasin Highway within the Civil Traces police station space on Wednesday. They looted jewelry and money from the home.

The second-in-chief of the Indian Air Pressure, (Air Commodore) Inderbir Singh Sidana (retd), was taken hostage by the miscreants and robbed of jewelry value Rs 22 lakh and Rs 12 lakh. Three masked robbers entered the home within the night.

Sidana of Yasin Highway mentioned they had been making preparations for his daughter’s marriage ceremony. On Wednesday, he was alone in the home. In the meantime, the youths entered his home. When he tried to boost an alarm, one of many robbers tied his arms and toes with a sheet. When he tried to make noise, a robber stuffed a material in his mouth. Then his eyes had been additionally wrapped with a bandage.

After this, the robbers took away Rs 22-lakh jewelry and Rs 12 lakh. ADCP Prabhjot Singh has claimed that the robbers shall be traced and nabbed quickly.
