BJP chief booked over ‘dowry harassment’

A BJP chief has been booked by the Faridkot police on fees of dowry harassment and beating up his spouse.
A case has been registered in opposition to BJP chief Gaurav Kakkar for felony assault and demanding dowry.
Gaurav had contested the February 2022 Vidhan Sabha on a BJP ticket from the Faridkot Meeting seat. His spouse Shalu Kakkar alleged that Gaurav and his mom tortured her for not “sufficiently funding” his election marketing campaign.
She alleged her dad and mom offered Rs 10 lakh to Gaurav throughout the electioneering. Recently her in-laws took of her gold ornaments, she alleged. “After I demanded my ornaments again, I used to be crushed up my husband,” alleged Shalu.
She levelled harassment allegations additionally in opposition to Gaurav’s mom. Shalu alleged that she was brutally crushed up on October 23 over the identical subject, leaving her critically injured.
Shalu alleged mentioned she was taken to Guru Gobind Singh Medical Faculty and Hospital, Faridkot, by her father and brother. The police have registered a case underneath the IPC in opposition to the accused.
