Punjab Vigilance Bureau nabs cop for taking Rs 4K bribe

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) nabbed an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) red-handed for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 4,000 from a resident, Tarlochan Singh, of the Navi Abadi space in Verka right here. The ASI, recognized as Narinder Singh, is posted on the PSPCL’s Anti-Energy Theft police station at Verka in Amritsar.
Vigilance sleuths mentioned the complainant alleged that the ASI was an investigation officer in an influence theft case registered towards him. He was allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 4,000 for the submission of investigation report within the courtroom.
The Vigilance sleuths mentioned after verifying the criticism, a VB crew from the Amritsar unit laid a lure and caught the suspect red-handed whereas taking a bribe of Rs 4,000 within the presence of two official witnesses.
A case underneath the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered towards the ASI, Narinder Singh, on the VB police station. Additional investigations are on within the case.
