Arrival of paddy at 85 rural mandis in Barnala district stopped

The choice of authorities to cease arrival of paddy at 85 goverment rural buy centres in Barnala district from Wednesday has not gone down effectively with farmers.
The authorities involved mentioned they’d buy paddy produce which had arrived at these 85 centres until Tuesday night.
“The choice of the state authorities to cease arrival of paddy at rural buy centres in Barnala is fallacious as many farmers are but to reap their crops. With the closure of those centres, farmers must promote their paddy to non-public purchasers at decrease charges,” alleged Joginder Singh Ugrahan, chief, Bharti Kisan Union (Ugrahan).
Sukhdev Singh Kokri Kalan, common secretary, BKU (Ugrahan), mentioned if the federal government doesn’t withdraw its order, they’d launch an agitation.
As per info, Barnala district has 85 buy centres in varied villages and 5 foremost grain markets at Mehal Kalan, Tapa, Bhadaur, Barnala and Sehna.
A complete 8.52 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has arrived and of this, 8.21 lakh metric tonnes has been bought to date.
Aslam Muhammad, District Mandi Officer, Barnala, mentioned, “As per the orders of the Punjab Authorities, we’ve got stopped arrival of paddy in any respect 85 buy centres located in villages. Nevertheless, foremost grain markets will stay open. Farmers can promote their crops at any of those mandis.”
