US-based Darshan Singh Dhaliwal conferred Pravasi Bharatiya Samman

Darshan Singh Dhaliwal, a US-based businessman and a philanthropist, has been awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, the best honour given by the Indian authorities to its settlers in overseas nations.
Dhaliwal, who hails from Patiala, was conferred the award through the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas being held in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore metropolis. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the seventeenth version of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas conference on Monday.
Dhaliwal is understood for his philanthropy works in India and overseas. An incident had grabbed eye-balls when he was denied permission to enter India through the farmers’ protest in opposition to the now-repealed three farm legal guidelines.
He was operating a ‘langar’ on the Delhi border, however needed to return to the US.
