70% folks killed in highway accidents aged 18-45

Kick-starting the Street Security Week from January 11 to 17, 2023, being organised by the Punjab State Street Security Council, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar right now mentioned the departments involved, NGOs and commuters ought to play their position responsibly and dedicate themselves to highway security all year long and never only for every week.

He mentioned many of the main and deadly accidents happen in the course of the foggy season between December and February, which is a serious problem, and requires particular consideration.

The minister mentioned, “As per the Punjab Street Accident Report-2021, about 4,589 folks died in highway accidents within the state, which involves a lack of 13 folks every day. It’s estimated that about 70% of individuals die in highway accidents are within the age group of

18 to 45 years.”
