2 shopkeepers held with kite string spools

The police arrested two shopkeepers with 14 spools of artificial kite string from two completely different locations right here on Friday.

The Patti metropolis police knowledgeable right here on Saturday {that a} group led by ASI Salwinder Singh arrested one shopkeeper, recognized as Vajinder Singh, a resident of Ward No.12 of Patti city. In the meantime, the Khalra police, led by ASI Bikram Singh, arrested one Pargat Singh, a resident of Marimegha village, with three rolls of the banned Chinese language string.

The police stated the sale of the Chinese language artificial string had been banned because it was harmful for people and animals. The accused had been booked below Sections 188 and 336, IPC, Sections 39 and 51 of the Wildlife Safety Act, 1971, and Part 15 of the Setting Safety Act, 1986, by respective police stations.

The accused was launched on bail by the police.
