Delhi Police busts two inter-state unlawful firearms syndicates; 4 from Punjab held, 18 pistols recovered

Forward of the Republic Day, Delhi Police’s Particular Cell busted two inter-state unlawful firearms syndicates within the metropolis with the arrest of 4 arms suppliers, officers mentioned on Monday.
Rohit Kumar (26), Pawan Kumar (28), Sunny (21) and Harshdeep (19), who hail from Punjab, have been concerned in arms trafficking for over 4 years, they mentioned, including 18 pistols have been recovered from their possession.
The accused sourced the firearms from Madhya Pradesh and provided in Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, police mentioned.
Further Commissioner of Police (Particular Cell) PS Kushwah mentioned, “A particular data was acquired on January 13 following which three accused — Rohit, Pawan and Harshdeep — have been apprehended at Barapullah Street close to auto stand, Nizamuddin Railway Station, once they have been exchanging firearms.” The fourth accused, Sunny, the handler of Harshdeep, was arrested from close to Nizamuddin Railway Station, he added.
“Arrested firearms suppliers had acquired consignments of recovered pistols from two firearms suppliers of Sendhwa and Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh. Sunny and Harshdeep had procured pistols from an arms provider of Burhanpur. Rohit and Pawan had procured pistols from an individual named Sardar of Sendhwa,” Kushwah mentioned.
Interrogation revealed that the accused used to hold new handsets and new SIM playing cards each time. After gathering the consignments of firearms, they used to journey by bus from Indore to their respective locations and their modus operandi was to ceaselessly change the buses on the way in which, he mentioned.
“Sunny has additional disclosed that he had procured pistols to avenge the assault on his brother in November 2022 by the associates of SK Kharod, a gangster, who can be related to a college’s college students organisation. He had already provided firearms to the gangsters and criminals in Punjab,” the police officer mentioned.
Accused Sunny was beforehand concerned in a case of try and homicide and theft in Punjab’s Patiala in 2021, police mentioned, including additional investigation is underway. AMP
