Senior BJP chief Sunil Jakhar on Friday stated Rahul Gandhi ought to have snubbed Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa on the stage itself for the oblique reference to former prime minister Manmohan Singh and heaping insults on a person held in admiration by tens of millions of Punjabis.
Bajwa at a public assembly in Pathankot on Thursday had stated, “We would like assurances that Rahul Gandhi and never some ‘farzi’ individual can be PM after we win the 2024 elections.”
Bajwa’s video saying “we don’t need simply anybody farzi as PM like up to now” has gone viral.
“It appears Congress leaders haven’t learnt classes from the previous acts of indiscretion dedicated by them towards the honour and dignity of Manmohan Singh whereas he was holding the workplace of the Prime Minister,” stated Jakhar, BJP nationwide government member.
Referring to the incident of chief of opposition in Punjab Meeting Bajwa terming former PM ‘farzi’ within the presence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on stage, Jakhar stated the Congress had scored one more self-goal within the title of Bharat Jodo by offending all Punjabis by insulting a person held in excessive esteem.
“Tough to check what profit they’re making an attempt to attract from strolling 300km in Punjab simply to tarnish the legacy of their very own choices of selecting a first-rate minister to steer the nation,” Jakhar stated.
Some Congress leaders of their desperation to win favours with their bosses had appeared to overlook all sense of propriety, Jakhar added.
