Raids on hideouts of Landa’s aides

CHANDIGARH, January 22

The police on Sunday raided the suspected hideouts of individuals linked with gangster-turned terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa.

The simultaneous raids had been performed on the residential and different premises in all districts. The operation was aimed toward disrupting the nexus amongst terrorists, gangsters and drug smugglers. DGP Gaurav Yadav stated premises of 334 individuals linked with Landa had been raided in a day-long operation by 142 events of the Punjab Police, involving about 800 police personnel. In Tarn Taran alone, 65 police events raided the premises of 171 individuals linked with Landa, he stated.

Canada-based Landa, concerned in varied legal actions in Punjab and overseas, is the most-wanted legal. He’s a Class-A gangster, who, after committing varied crimes, fled to Canada in 2017. He runs a community of gangsters.
