RTI report: Govt but to gather Rs 154 crore from colonisers in Amritsar

The Amritsar Improvement Authority will acquire Rs 154 crore pending quantity from personal colonisers for licensed colonies. This was revealed by an RTI utility filed by Suresh Sharma, an RTI activist.

Sharma had filed an RTI utility in June 2022 concerning the arrears of licensed colonies in Amritsar. The details that emerged from the knowledge acquired have been shocking. The ADA stated Rs 154.43 crore have been due with 35 licensed colonies within the district. Solely the primary instalment had been deposited by these 35 colonies to use for the licence. After that, neither any instalment was deposited by the colonisers nor any motion had been taken by the division.

The RTI activist stated after he filed an RTI utility, the division awakened from its deep slumber and all of a sudden 35 colonies have been put within the defaulters’ checklist and DC workplace was requested to dam the registration of plots in colonies.

Sharma stated the connivance of the officers of ADA needs to be investigated. “In a letter written to the Deputy Commissioner to cease the registration of plots, solely the names of the colonies have been written by the ADA. With out Khasra numbers of colonies, the registrations of plots wouldn’t cease,” stated Sharma.

“There’s a huge rip-off within the ADA. I’ll deliver the matter to the discover of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and City Improvement Minister Aman Arora, in order that FIRs are registered in opposition to the officers and colonisers and authorities recovers Rs 154 crore,” stated the RTI activist.
