Ajnala abduction case: Priest held

Two days after a 22-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped in Ajnala, the police have arrested a priest in reference to the case, and located the woman.

In line with the police, it was not a case of abduction because the woman has claimed that she had eloped with the suspect — Mukha Masih — of her personal volition. The woman can be produced within the court docket for recording her assertion.

Ajnala DSP Sanjiv Kumar stated that following a probe, it was discovered that the 2 had an affair. The woman used to work at a salon in Ajnala. She was allegedly kidnapped whereas she was on her approach again house in Diyal Bhatti village.

The woman’s mom informed the police that her daughter didn’t return house from work on Friday. The next day, the suspect referred to as up her fiancé from her cell phone and informed him that she had been kidnapped.

The household of the woman knowledgeable the Ajnala police, and subsequently, a case was registered beneath Sections 363 and 365 of the IPC.

The Diocese of Amritsar, Church of North India (CNI), has suspended Mukha Masih, who’s considered one of its evangelists, in view of the incident.
