On eve of Republic Day, MHA Broadcasts names of Punjab Police Officers For PPMDS, PMMS Awards


CHANDIGARH : Recognising the excellent providers of the Punjab Police, the Ministry of House Affairs, Authorities of India (GOI), on the eve of 74th Republic Day introduced the names of the Punjab Cops/officers, to be awarded President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPMDS) and Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PMMS).

Three IPS officers together with Further Director Basic of Police (ADGP) Provisioning and Modernisation G Nageswara Rao, Inspector Basic of Police (IGP) Border Vary Amritsar Mohnish Chawla and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sri Muktsar Sahib Opinderjit Singh Ghuman have been awarded President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

Equally, an IPS officer Deputy Inspector Basic of Police (DIG) Ferozepur Vary Ranjit Singh, and 4 PPS officers together with Commandant RTC PAP Jalandhar Mandeep Singh, ADCP Metropolis-2 Amritsar Prabhjot Singh Virk, DSP Vigilance Bureau Unit Sangrur Parminder Singh and DSP CID Unit Sangrur Charanpal Singh, are amongst 15 officers/officers who’ve been chosen for the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. The remaining officers embody Inspector Tajinder Singh, Inspector Harjinder Singh, SI Daljit Singh, SI Jagtar Singh, SI Baljit Kaur, SI Jugal Kishore, ASI Raj Kumar, ASI Jaspal Singh, ASI Rakesh Chopra, and ASI Piara Singh. 

    Director Basic of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav, whereas congratulating the awardees, expressed gratitude to the Central Authorities and State Authorities for recognizing the providers of those officers and boosting the morale of the whole Punjab Police drive. He stated that such recognition performs a big position in encouraging the Police drive to work with extra dedication and devotion, which may be very a lot required in a border state having manifold safety challenges.
