Shocked over bail to Ashish: SKM
Chandigarh, January 25
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has expressed shock and dismay at grant of eight-week interim bail to Ashish Mishra, the important thing accused within the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.
The Kirti Kisan Union introduced that its members would burn effigies of Ashish, who’s son of Union minister Ajay Mishra, on Thursday.
“It’s little comfort that the order stipulates that Ashish has to depart UP inside one week of his launch and he can’t keep in UP or NCT of Delhi. It’s universally recognized that the minister had threatened to kill farmers who oppose him,” stated SKM leaders.
“Ashish is a strong politician affiliated to the ruling BJP. His launch will vastly intimidate witnesses and jeopardise the trial. It might be saved in thoughts that the BJP-led UP Authorities soft-pedalled on his arrest and charging,” the SKM stated.
BKU (Ekta-Dakaunda), too, has expressed its dismay on the grant of bail. In an announcement, union leaders stated this had precipitated nice resentment amongst farmers.
