
Delay in disbursing pension arrears to senior citizen

The efforts made for seven lengthy years by an aged lady Surinder Kaur, a resident of Tarn Taran city, to get the arrears of her household pension of her husband from the Punjab Nationwide Financial institution, Tarn Taran department, have been fruitless.
Surinder Kaur’s husband Raghbir Singh who retired from the Punjab Roadways died on March 2, 2014. He was receiving 90 per cent provisional pension from the division by the financial institution. After the demise of her husband, she was issued PPO (Pension fee order) by the Accountant Normal, Punjab, and had been getting the household pension since then.
Surinder Kaur (72) who suffered from paralysis and is bed-ridden mentioned right here on Monday that she had been corresponding with the financial institution officers apart from assembly them personally to get the arrears of the provisional pension of her husband however had acquired nothing.
Ajit Singh Fatehchakk, district president, Pensioners and Senior Residents Welfare Affiliation, flayed the angle of the financial institution officers.
Sahil Mehra, senior supervisor of the financial institution, mentioned he was not the competent authority to offer his model within the case.
