PSPCL official nabbed for taking Rs 15L bribe

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) arrested Sukhwinder Singh Multani, Further Superintendent Engineer (ASE) of PSPCL, posted at Jalandhar, for taking a bribe of Rs 15 lakh and demanding Rs 20 lakh extra right here at the moment.

Disclosing this right here at the moment, a spokesperson for the Vigilance Bureau stated a case had been registered towards the PSPCL official, who was earlier posted as Govt Engineer (XEN) Technical Audit, PSPCL, Amritsar, on the grievance of Sharanjeet Singh, retailer keeper of PSPCL, Verka, right here.

The complainant lodged an internet plaint together with proof within the audio-video format with the Chief Minister’s anti-corruption helpline.

The spokesperson stated the complainant alleged that the official had already taken Rs 15-lakh bribe whereas he was posted as an XEN to ship an inspection report of retailer stock in his favour. He was now demanding Rs 20 lakh extra to suggest his reinstatement because the complainant was suspended on the idea of inventory verification report.

The complainant recorded the complete dialog as proof and submitted it to the VB to probe into the gratification matter.

The spokesperson stated the Vigilance Bureau investigated the allegations levelled within the on-line grievance and registered a corruption case towards the PSPCL official after discovering him responsible for taking a bribe of Rs 15 lakh in three installments and demanding Rs 20 lakh extra from the complainant.

A case below the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered towards the suspect on the VB police station, Amritsar. Additional investigations have been on into the matter, he stated.
