Journey agent, his spouse booked for duping lady of Rs 8 lakh

A girl of Matwani village in Moga district was allegedly duped of Rs 8 lakh by a journey agent and his spouse, a senior police official stated in the present day.

In keeping with sources, Ranjit Singh of Matwani village complained to the police that he gave a sum of Rs 8 lakh to native journey agent Jagdish Singh and his spouse Kiran Kaur to ship his daughter-in-law Inderjit Kaur on a examine visa to Canada. Inderjit had cleared the IELTS check and was eligible to go to Canada for research.

Ranjit Singh stated Jagdish and his spouse Kiran who have been administrators of an immigration company had demanded a complete sum of Rs 18.50 lakh to ship his daughter-in-law to Canada. Out of which, Rs 8 lakh was paid to him.

A case below Sections 420 and 120B of the IPC has been registered in opposition to Jagdish Singh and his spouse Kiran Kaur on the Ajitwal police station.
