4-lane Phagwara-Rupnagar NH part will increase highway infra in Punjab: Gadkari

New Delhi, February 21

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday mentioned the four-lane extensive part from Phagwara to Rupnagar on NH-344A is being executed in hybrid annuity mode at a value of Rs 1,367 crore.

Below the hybrid annuity mannequin, the federal government offers 40 per cent of the mission price to the developer to start work and the remaining funding is made by the developer.

The Ministry of Street Transport & Highways in an announcement mentioned the 4-Lane extensive part from Phagwara to Rupnagar on NH-344A developed by NHAI would give a significant increase to the highway infra in Punjab.

The part connects main cities Amritsar – Jalandhar – Chandigarh and extends mobility to Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Ropar, and Mohali.  

The alignment will scale back the journey time between Jalandhar and Chandigarh to nearly half and supply direct entry to Khatkarkalan, which is the ancestral dwelling of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the minister mentioned.
