Rail monitor blocked for 2nd successive day in Gurdaspur, commuters irked
Gurdaspur, February 23
A whole bunch of indignant commuters questioned the logic and the rationale of protesting farmers over the blocking of railway tracks and stopping them from continuing to their respective locations when they don’t seem to be able to resolve any of their calls for.
For the second successive day, 400-odd farmers laid siege to the Pathankot-Gurdaspur-Amritsar railway monitor on the Gurdaspur railway station. The scenario remained tense as harried commuters squarely blamed the protestors for “disrupting their livelihood and their day by day lives” for no fault of theirs.
“The farmers’ major demand on getting authorized tooth for MSP on foodgrain needs to be taken up by the Centre. How are we concerned? Their different demand is to provide them enough compensation for land acquired for the Katra e-way venture. Once more, this needs to be seemed into by the NHAI. We fail to know why we’re being punished,” mentioned Daljit Singh, a commuter stranded on his strategy to Pune.
