Chheharta police nab 2 in homicide bid case

The Chheharta police have nabbed two individuals in reference to an try and homicide case by which a motorcycle-borne youth recognized as Ranjit Singh, alias Raja, was shot at by two unknown individuals within the Chheharta space on February 15.

These arrested had been recognized as Manpreet Singh, alias Man, and Amarjit Singh, each residents of Bhaini village falling underneath the jurisdiction of the Chheharta police station.

Extra Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Prabhjot Singh Virk stated an outdated enmity was the rationale behind the incident. He stated Ranjit Singh had a quarrel with Varinder Singh, brother of Manpreet Singh, two years in the past. Varinder had sustained critical head accidents at the moment. Following which, the police had booked and arrested Ranjit Singh, who was despatched to jail.

The ADCP stated Ranjit had lately come out of jail after spending over a 12 months in it. Manpreet had stored a grudge in opposition to him and shot at him in Punjab Nationwide Financial institution Wali Gali in Chheharta on February 15. He had sustained a bullet damage and was rushed to a personal hospital.

The police have registered a case underneath Sections 307, 34 and 120-B of the IPC and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act on the Chheharta police station. The police have recovered a .32 bore pistol, together with three bullets and the bike used within the crime, from their possession.
