
New 40 ft large bridge can be constructed at village Akhara on Jagraon-Raikot highway: Harbhajan Singh ETO
Chandigarh: A brand new 40 ft large bridge can be constructed on the department of Abohar canal at village Akhara beneath Jagraon meeting constituency by the Punjab authorities led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Rs 780 lakh can be spent on the development of this bridge.
Divulging this, Punjab Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO mentioned that the folks of the realm have been demanding to construct a brand new large bridge instead of the previous one. He mentioned that this demand can be fulfilled by the approval of this bridge. He mentioned that beneath NABARD scheme RIDF-28, an approval letter has been issued for the reconstruction of this bridge with the price of Rs. 780 lakh.
It’s value mentioning that there’s a very previous 12 ft large bridge (Akhara Bridge) on Abohar Kanal close to village Akhara on this 33 ft large Jagraon-Raikot highway, which is in dilapidated situation. This highway connects many vital cities like Jagraon, Raikot, Barnala, Khanna, Malerkotla and so on. On account of this slim bridge, visitors jams are the routine matter on the highway and it posed nice danger of accidents. The development of this bridge will resolve this long-pending downside of visitors jams.
